Je was vorig jaar mee op klimaatactiekamp, of je hebt er zeker van gehoord. Alleszins hebben we JOU dit jaar nodig om het kamp mee waar te maken ;-).Vorig jaar brachten we een 400tal mensen bijeen op het kamp aan de rand van de Antwerpse haven: een week vol workshops, acties, vorming over de strijd tegen klimaatswijziging. We legden er onder andere de steenkooloverslag ABT gedurende een dag stil. Sindsdien vond de top in Kopenhagen plaats, waar vele duizenden activisten van het internationale netwerk Climate Justice Action op straat ‘system change, nog climate change’ eisten. De radicale klimaatbeweging heeft een zeker momentum, en we willen die ook in België verder uitbouwen. Vandaar de plannen voor een nieuw kamp!

De eerste vergadering vindt plaats op zondag 21 februari van 14 tot 18 uur in Brussel (Koningstraat 123). Het wordt een belangrijke vergadering vermits we zullen vastleggen welk soort kamp we willen en wanneer het doorgaat, welke werkgroepen en structuur we nodig hebben en wie wat op het vlak van media, programma, infrastructuur, financiën, acties, … op zich kan nemen.

PREMIERE REUNION CAMP D’ACTION POUR LE CLIMAT 2010

Peut-être tu étais au camp d’action pour le climat de l’année passée, ou au moins tu en as entendu parler. En tout cas, cette année-ci nous avons besoin de TON aide pour réaliser le camp. Le camp de l’année passée a rassemblé plus ou moins 400 personnes, tout près du port d’Anvers, pour une semaine pleine d’ateliers, actions et éducations sur la lutte contre le réchauffement climatique. On a entre autre réussi à bloquer le terminal de charbon ABT pendant une journée. Récemment, le sommet mondial sur le climat a eu lieu à Copenhague: des milliers d’activistes du réseau international Climate Justice Action ont mené pleins d’actions pour demander un changement du système, pas de changement du climat. Le mouvement radical pour le climat a gagné une certaine dynamique, et nous voulons continuer à le construire en Belgique aussi! C’est pourquoi on veut un nouveau camp d’action pour le climat cet été.

La première réunion aura lieu dimanche 21 février de 14 à 18h à Bruxelles (Rue royale 123). Ce sera une réunion importante. On y décidera sur quel type de camp on veut, la date, et les groupes de travail et la structure dont on aura besoin: médias, programme, logistique, finances, action etc…

FIRST MEETING CLIMATE ACTION CAMP 2010

Maybe you were at last year’s climate action camp, or at least you must have heard about it. Anyway, we need YOU this year to help realizing the camp;-). Last year, the climate action camp gathered around 400 people close to the harbour of Antwerp, for a week full of workshops, actions and education around the struggle against climate change. We succeeded in blocking the coal hub ABT during one day. Recently, the climate summit in Copenhagen took place: thousands of activists of the international network Climate Justice Action took to the streets to demand ‘System change, not climate change’. The radical climate movement has won a certain dynamic, and we want to build it in Belgium, too! That’s why we want a new climate action camp.

The first meeting is taking place on Sunday 21 February from 14 to 18h in Brussels (Koningsstraat/Rue Royale 123). It is going to be an important meeting. We will have to decide whether and when a new climate camp will take place, which working groups and structure we need, and how we set up media, programme, logistics, finance, action groups….
